Note 9. Change in Accumulated Other Comprehensive Income

Accumulated other comprehensive income includes unrealized gain and losses on available-for-sale investments, unrealized gains and losses on interest only strips, and unrecognized prior service costs on bank own life insurance (“BOLI”).  Changes to other accumulated other comprehensive income are presented net of tax effect as a component of equity.  Reclassifications out of accumulated other comprehensive income are recorded on the statement of operations either as a gain or loss.  The reclassifications for available-for-sale securities are included in the Statement of Operations as gain on sale or call of securities.

Changes to accumulated other comprehensive income by components are shown in the following tables for the periods indicated:
