The Company is primarily engaged in the exploration and production of oil and natural gas. Peru and Brazil are not reportable segments because the level of activity is not significant at this time and are included as part of the Corporate segment. The accounting policies of the reportable operating segments are the same as those described in the summary of significant accounting policies. The Company evaluates performance based on profit or loss from oil and natural gas operations before income taxes.</font></div>

The concentration of credit risk in a single industry affects the Company's overall exposure to credit risk because customers may be similarly affected by changes in economic and other conditions. In 2010, the Company has one significant customer for its Colombian crude oil, Ecopetrol S.A. ("Ecopetrol"), a Colombian government agency. Sales to Ecopetrol accounted for 96% and 95% of the Company's revenues in the third quarter of 2010 and 2009, respectively. Sales to Ecopetrol accounted for 96% and 94% of the Company's revenues for the nine month periods ended September 30, 2010 and 2009, respectively. In Argentina, the Company has one significant customer, Refineria del Norte S.A ("Refiner"). Sales to Refiner accounted for 4% and 5% of the Company's revenues in the third quarter of 2010 and 2009, respectively.
