Item 8.01. Other Events.

On January 4, 2010, Tessera Technologies, Inc. ("Tessera") announced that its President and Chief Executive Officer Henry R. Nothhaft was appointed Chairman of the Board of Directors effective January 1, 2010. Mr. Nothhaft was formerly the Vice Chairman of the Board of Directors and is succeeding Dr. Bruce McWilliams, who served as Chairman since February 2002 and as a member of the Board of Directors since June 1999. Dr. McWilliams will continue to serve as a member of the Board of Directors.
