16. Net Loss Per Share

Basic loss per share is computed by dividing income attributable to common shareholders by the weighted-average number of common shares outstanding for the period. Diluted earnings per share reflects the potential dilution of securities by adding other common stock equivalents, including common stock options, warrants, and restricted common stock, in the weighted average number of common shares outstanding for a period, if dilutive. Potentially dilutive securities are excluded from the computation if their effect is anti-dilutive. For the three months ended June 30, 2013 and 2012, 4.9 million and 7.7 million potentially dilutive securities, respectively, were excluded from the computation of diluted loss per share because their effect on net loss per share was anti-dilutive. For the six months ended June 30, 2013 and 2012, 4.9 million and 7.6 million potentially dilutive securities, respectively, were excluded from the computation of diluted loss per share because their effect on net loss per share was anti-dilutive. As a result of the net loss for each of the three months and six months ended June 30, 2013 and 2012 there is no dilutive impact to the net loss per share calculation for the periods.
