AÉROPOSTALE REPORTS MAY SALES RESULTS
 
New York, New York – June 5, 2008 - Aéropostale, Inc. (NYSE: ARO), a mall-based specialty retailer of casual and active apparel for young women and men, today announced that total net sales for the four-week period ended May 31, 2008 increased 16% to $102.3 million, from $88.1 million for the four-week period ended June 2, 2007. The Company’s same store sales increased 6% for the month, compared to a same store sales increase of 2% in the year ago period.

Year to date total net sales have increased 21% to $438.7 million, from $363.9 million in the year-ago period. Year to date same store sales increased 9%, compared to a same store sales increase of 2% last year.

The Company noted that it continued to experience positive customer reaction to its summer merchandise assortment. The Company also noted its gross margins for the month increased over last year, and that its inventories remain well controlled.
