NOTE E—CASH, CASH EQUIVALENTS AND RESTRICTED CASH

  

The following table provides a reconciliation of cash, cash equivalents and restricted cash reported within the balance sheet that sum to the total of the same such amounts in the statement of cash flows (in thousands):

Restricted cash includes guarantee deposits for customs duties, China government subsidy fund, and compensating balances associated with certain credit facilities. As of December 31, 2023 and 2022, there was $6.5 million and $8.7 million of restricted cash required for bank acceptance notes issued to vendors, respectively. There was $2.5 million and $1.1 million certificate of deposit with original maturity of 90 days or less associated with credit facilities with a bank in China as of  December 31, 2023 and 2022 respectively. There was $0.7 million and $1.0 million guarantee deposits for customs duties as of December 31, 2023 and December 31, 2022.
