Note 15. Subsequent Events

     In July 2011, Cooper utilized existing cash on hand to complete two acquisitions for total cash consideration of approximately $240 million, net of cash acquired. On July 15, 2011, Cooper acquired Gitiesse srl, a manufacturer of marine and oil and gas communications systems specializing in the manufacture of digital integrated multimedia communications systems for vessels worldwide. Gitiesse will become part of the Energy and Safety Solutions segment. On July 28, 2011, Cooper acquired Martek Power, a manufacturer of power electronic components specializing in the manufacture of highly specialized power management devices for the military, heavy-duty transportation, aerospace, medical, telecom and hybrid/electrical vehicle markets. Martek will become part of the Electrical Products Group segment.
