NOTE 9 - GOODWILL

The Company acquired ZBB Technologies, Inc., a former wholly-owned subsidiary, through a series of transactions in March 1996. ZBB Technologies Inc. was subsequently merged with and into EnSync, Inc. on January 1, 2012. The goodwill amount of $1.134 million, the difference between the price paid for ZBB Technologies, Inc. and the net assets of the acquisition, amortized through fiscal 2002, resulted in the net goodwill amount of $803,079.

During fiscal year 2016, the Company recorded goodwill totaling $6,284 in connection with the Tian Shan Renewable Energy LLC business acquisition. See Note 4 for further information.
