The Company has determined that the unrealized losses on its short-term investments as of September 30, 2014 and December 31, 2013 do not constitute an "other than temporary impairment." The unrealized losses for the short-term investments have all been in a continuous unrealized loss position for less than twelve months. The Company’s conclusion of no “other than temporary impairment” is based on the high credit quality of the securities, their short remaining maturity (less than five months, weighted average) and the Company’s intent and ability to hold such loss securities until maturity.
