ORGANIZATION AND NATURE OF BUSINESS	NOTE 1 ORGANIZATION AND NATURE OF BUSINESS Northern Oil and Gas, Inc. (the "Company," "Northern," "our" and words of similar import), a Minnesota corporation, is an independent energy company engaged in the acquisition, exploration, exploitation and development of crude oil and natural gas properties. The Company's common stock trades on the NYSE MKT market under the symbol "NOG". The Company acquires interests in crude oil and natural gas acreage and drilling projects, primarily in North Dakota and Montana that target the Bakken and Three Forks formations. In addition to developing its acreage the Company acquires non-operated working interests in wells within its area of operations. As of June 30, 2012, approximately 43% of our 180,588 total net mineral acres were developed.
