Restructuring and Severance

The following table is a summary of restructuring and severance charges for the first quarters of 2013 and 2012:

During the first quarter of 2013, the Company recognized restructuring and severance costs related to its continuing operations of $0.8 million for Engineered Surfaces primarily relating to plant closure costs and workforce reduction actions at its Columbus, Mississippi facility. During the first quarter of 2012, the Company recognized severance costs of $0.5 million for Engineered Surfaces related to workforce reduction actions. The Company expects to recognize an additional $0.9 million of closure and severance costs related to the closure of its Columbus, Mississippi facility during the remainder of 2013.

Additionally, during the first quarter of 2013, the Company recognized $0.5 million of severance expense related to its discontinued operations, primarily due to workforce reduction actions.
