Note R – Operating Leases

We lease certain property and equipment from third parties under non-cancelable operating lease agreements. Rent expense under operating leases was $13,519,000, $14,683,000 and $17,219,000 in fiscal 2017, fiscal 2016 and fiscal 2015, respectively. Future minimum lease payments for non-cancelable operating leases having an initial or remaining term in excess of one year at May 31, 2017, were as follows:
