On June 30, 2006, Redback Networks Inc. (the “Company”) announced that it has received an informal request from the Securities and Exchange Commission and a subpoena from the United States Attorney for the Northern District of California for information on historical stock option grant practices. A copy of the press release is attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1 and is incorporated herein by reference.
