Thomson finalises the transfer of its Italian tubes activity in Videocolor Anagni to Videocon

Paris, France - March 1st, 2005 – Following the announcement of January 26, 2005, regarding the transfer of its Italian tubes manufacturing facility in Anagni (Italy) to the Indian group Videocon, lndia’s leading manufacturer of consumer electronics and white goods, Thomson announces today the closing of this transaction.

The official ceremony, presided by Undersecretary Gianni Letta, took place in Rome and was attended by representatives of Thomson and Videocon, by the Indian Ambassador Himachal Som, by Minister for Production Activities Antonio Marzano, the Vice-President of Lazio Region Giorgio Simeoni, the President of Frosinone Province Francesco Scalia, the Mayor of Anagni Franco Fiorito as well as the national and provincial secretaries of five major trade unions organisations.

The transfer of Anagni to Videocon will enable the development of new manufacturing operations on site in order to replace progressively the production of colour picture tubes.
