        On June 20, 2006, Umpqua Holdings Corporation issued a press release announcing the declaration of a cash dividend of $0.12 per common share payable on July 14, 2006 to all shareholders of record as of June 30, 2006. Umpqua also announced that it will conduct a quarterly earnings conference call Thursday, July 20, 2006 at 10:00 a.m. PDT (1:00 p.m. EDT) where the Company will discuss second quarter results and provide an update on recent activities. There will be a question-and-answer session following the presentation. Interested parties are invited to join the call by dialing 888-577-8991; the password is "UMPQUA."  Quarterly earnings conference call scheduled for July 20, 2006

PORTLAND, Ore. - June 20, 2006 - Umpqua Holdings Corporation (NASDAQ: UMPQ), parent company of Umpqua Bank and Strand, Atkinson, Williams & York, Inc., today announced that its board of directors approved a quarterly cash dividend of $0.12 per common share.
