Basis of Presentation

The accompanying unaudited condensed consolidated financial statements of Bottomline Technologies (de), Inc. (referred to below as we, us, our or Bottomline) have been prepared in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States for interim financial information and with the instructions to Form 10-Q and Article 10 of Regulation S-X. Accordingly, they do not include all of the information and footnotes required by accounting principles generally accepted in the United States (GAAP) for complete financial statements. In the opinion of management, all adjustments (consisting of normal recurring accruals and adjustments) considered necessary for a fair presentation of the interim financial information have been included. Operating results for the three and nine months ended March 31, 2020 are not necessarily indicative of the results that may be expected for any other interim period or for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2020, particularly in light of the novel coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and the effect it is having on the domestic and global economies.
