NOTICE TO THE MARKET
São Paulo, September 12, 2023 - BRASKEM S.A. ("Braskem" or "Company") (Ticker B3: BRKM3, BRKM5 and BRKM6; NYSE: BAK; LATIBEX: XBRK) hereby informs its shareholders and the market that it has signed an agreement (“Agreement”), through its subsidiary Braskem Netherlands B.V. (“Braskem BV”), with Vitol S.A. (“Vitol”), a multinational energy and commodity company, to purchase circular feedstock from Vitol produced by WPU – Waste Plastic Upcycling A/S (“WPU”), a company that has a proprietary technology to convert plastic waste into feedstock. Under the Agreement, Vitol will supply Braskem BV with pyrolysis oil produced by chemical recycling process at the facilities of WPU in Denmark.
The Agreement is part of Braskem’s Wenew ecosystem, a concept that represents and consolidates Braskem’s efforts in the circular economy, and is aligned with the recycling growth avenue of Braskem’s Corporate Strategy for 2030 which has the objective of aiming to achieve 1 million tons of resins and chemicals products with recycled content by 2030.
