Item 5.02(b) – Resignation of Thomas Eacobacci as President and Chief Operating Officer
On September 20, 2021, Thomas (Tom) Eacobacci, President and Chief Operating Officer of BlackBerry Limited (the “Company”), provided notice of his intention to leave the Company to pursue other opportunities with effect as of October 29, 2021. Mr. Eacobacci’s resignation is not due to any disagreement with the Company.
On September 22, 2021, the Company announced Mr. Eacobacci’s resignation and that John Giamatteo has been appointed as the President of the Company’s Cyber Security business unit effective as of October 4, 2021. Mr. Eacobacci has agreed to cooperate with the transition of his responsibilities as acting General Manager of the Cyber Security business unit to Mr. Giamatteo. A copy of the press release containing the announcements is filed as Exhibit 99.1 and incorporated herein by reference.
