RIM CHAIRMAN & CO-CEO TO SPEAK AT RBC CAPITAL MARKETS INVESTOR CONFERENCE

Waterloo, ON – Jim Balsillie, Chairman & Co-CEO at Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM), will speak at the RBC Capital Markets 8th Annual Telecom, Media, and Technology Conference in Banff, Alberta on Thursday, February 24, 2005. The session, which is scheduled to begin at approximately 11:25 a.m. Mountain Time (1:25 p.m. Eastern Time), will be available via live audio webcast on RIM’s website and can be accessed by logging on at www.rim.com/investors/events/index.shtml.
