RIM PRESIDENT AND CO-CEO TO PRESENT AT UBS EUROPEAN INVESTOR MEETING

Waterloo, Canada – Mike Lazaridis, President and Co-CEO at Research In Motion (RIM) (Nasdaq: RIMM; TSX: RIM), will present at the UBS European Investor Meeting in London, England on Wednesday, October 6, 2004. The presentation, which is scheduled to begin at 12:30 pm Greenwich Mean Time (7:30 am Eastern Daylight Time), will be available via live audio webcast on RIM’s website and can be accessed by logging on at www.rim.com/investors/events/index.shtml.
