Item. 5.02(b) Departure of Directors or Principal Officers; Election of
Directors; Appointment of Principal Officers

Steven J. Hillyard, Weyerhaeuser's Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer,
announced to the Audit Committee of the Weyerhaeuser Board of Directors at its
meeting on October 19, 2005 that he will retire from the position of Chief
Accounting Officer effective in March of 2006.  The Company has implemented a
process to identify a successor to serve as Chief Accounting Officer.
