Changes in the carrying amount of core deposit intangibles in the accompanying consolidated balance sheets as of December 31 are summarized as follows:

Accumulated amortization was $7,537 and $7,113 at December 31, 2024 and 2023, respectively. Amortization expense related to core deposit intangibles was $424, $441 and $454 during the years ended December 31, 2024, 2023 and 2022, respectively. The estimated aggregate future amortization expense for core deposit intangibles remaining as of December 31, 2024 was as follows:
