Note 20. Recently Issued Accounting Pronouncements

In December 2023, the Financial Accounting Standards Board issued Accounting Standards Update (ASU) No. 2023-09, Improvements to Income Tax Disclosures (Topic 740). This guidance establishes new income tax disclosure requirements in addition to modifying and eliminating certain existing guidance. Under the new guidance, entities must consistently categorize and provide greater disaggregation of information in the rate reconciliation. They must also further disaggregate income taxes paid. This ASU is effective for fiscal years beginning after December 15, 2024, although early adoption is permitted. The Company intends to adopt the new standard on January 1, 2025. We are currently evaluating the impact of adopting this new accounting guidance on our consolidated financial statements, including accounting policies, processes and systems, but we do not expect the adoption of this ASU will have a material impact on the Company’s disclosures.

In November 2023, the Financial Accounting Standards Board issued Accounting Standards Update (ASU) No. 2023-07, Improvements to Reportable Segment Disclosures (Topic 280). This guidance is intended to improve reportable segment disclosure requirements, primarily through enhanced disclosures about significant segment expenses. The amendments in this ASU are effective for fiscal years beginning after December 15, 2023, and interim periods within fiscal years beginning after December 15, 2024. Early adoption is permitted. We do not currently expect the adoption of this ASU will have a material impact on the Company’s disclosures.
