NOTE 5. ASSETS HELD FOR SALE OR CONTRIBUTION

We have investments in certain real estate properties that met the criteria to be classified as held for sale or contribution at September 30, 2018 and December 31, 2017. At the time of classification, these properties were expected to be sold to third parties or were recently developed and expected to be contributed to unconsolidated co-investment ventures within twelve months. The amounts included in Assets Held for Sale Or Contribution represented real estate investment balances and the related assets for each property.

In October 2018, we and certain co-investment ventures sold a portfolio of operating buildings and land in Europe and the U.S. in a single transaction. Included in Assets Held for Sale Or Contribution is $412.2 million of properties owned by Prologis and our consolidated co-investment venture at September 30, 2018.
