     In reference to the article published in the 3,426^th issue of the Relatório Reservado newsletter, of July 23, 2008, entitled "BNDES reduces its voltage in energy distributors", we hereby inform the market that we are not aware that BNDESPar has any intention to sell the company's shares.

     We should also like to make it absolutely clear that the other comments on COPEL, its executives and its relations with shareholders are totally without foundation.
