Item 8.01 Other Events.
Gulf Island Shipyards, LLC (“GIS”), a subsidiary of Gulf Island Fabrication, Inc., is engaged in a lawsuit with Hornbeck Offshore Services, LLC (“Hornbeck”) relating to the construction of two multi-purpose supply vessels.
As previously reported, on March 2, 2023, a Louisiana appellate court reversed a trial court decision that had granted Hornbeck’s motions for partial summary judgment, thereby reinstating GIS’s wrongful termination claim. On April 3, 2023, Hornbeck filed a writ application with the Louisiana Supreme Court seeking to set aside the appellate court decision.
On May 23, 2023, the Louisiana Supreme Court denied Hornbeck’s writ application. As previously disclosed, the trial is scheduled to begin on October 16, 2023.
