Description of Business and Basis of Presentation	Description of Business and Basis of Presentation Tenneco Inc. (“Tenneco” or “the Company”) was formed under the laws of Delaware in 1996. Tenneco designs, manufactures, markets, and distributes products and services for light vehicle, commercial truck, off-highway, industrial, motorsport, and aftermarket customers. Tenneco consists of four operating segments, Motorparts, Performance Solutions, Clean Air, and Powertrain and serves both original equipment (“OE”) manufacturers and the repair and replacement markets worldwide. On February 22, 2022, the Company entered into an Agreement and Plan of Merger with Pegasus Holdings III, LLC and Pegasus Merger Co. Refer to Note 20, “Subsequent Events” for further information. The consolidated financial statements of the Company have been prepared in accordance with accounting principles generally accepted in the United States (“U.S. GAAP”).
