Organization, Consolidation and Presentation of Financial Statements Disclosure [Text Block]	DESCRIPTION OF THE BUSINESS: Ultra Petroleum Corp. (the “Company”) is an independent oil and gas company engaged in the development, production, operation, exploration and acquisition of oil and natural gas properties. The Company is incorporated under the laws of the Yukon Territory, Canada. The Company's principal business activities are conducted in the Green River Basin of Southwest Wyoming and in the north-central Pennsylvania area of the Appalachian Basin.
