Note 9. Income Taxes

The Company recorded income tax expense of $0.1 million and $0.2 million, respectively, for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2021, primarily related to the operating profit of the Company’s Cerus Europe B.V. subsidiary. The Company recorded income tax expense of $0.1 million and $0.2 million, respectively, for the three and nine months ended September 30, 2020, primarily related to the operating profit of the Company’s Cerus Europe B.V. subsidiary.
