Note 9. Income Taxes

The Company recorded income tax expense of $0.1 million for the three months ended September 30, 2022 and 2021, primarily related to the operating profit of the Company’s Cerus Europe B.V. subsidiary. The Company recorded income tax expense of $0.2 million for the nine months ended September 30, 2022 and 2021, primarily related to the operating profit of the Company’s Cerus Europe B.V. subsidiary.
