Description of Business	Description of Business Universal Electronics Inc. ("UEI"), based in Southern California, develops and manufactures a broad line of easy-to-use, pre-programmed universal wireless control products, audio-video accessories and intelligent wireless automation components as well as software designed to enable consumers to wirelessly connect, control and interact with an increasingly complex home entertainment and automation environment. In addition, over the past 29 years, we have developed a broad portfolio of patented technologies and a database of home connectivity software that we license to our customers, including many leading Fortune 500 companies. Our primary markets include cable and satellite television service provider, original equipment manufacturer ("OEM"), retail, private label, pro-security installation and personal computing companies. We sell directly to our customers, and for retail we also sell through distributors in Europe, Australia, New Zealand, South Africa, the Middle East, Mexico, and selected countries in Asia and Latin America under the One For All^® and Nevo^® brand names. As used herein, the terms "we", "us" and "our" refer to Universal Electronics Inc. and its subsidiaries unless the context indicates to the contrary.
