Item 5.02  Departure of Directors or Certain Officers; Election of Directors; Appointment of Certain Officers; Compensatory Arrangements of Certain Officers.
 
On January 17, 2012, the Board of Directors of River Valley Bancorp (the “Company”) was advised of Robert W. Anger’s decision to retire as a director of the Company effective as of the date of the annual shareholder meeting in 2012, currently scheduled for April 18, 2012.  Mr. Anger has been a member of the Board of Directors of the Company since 1996.  Mr. Anger is currently 73 years of age and is retiring because he is getting closer to the 75 years maximum age limitation applicable to the Company’s directors.
