Item 8.01  Other Events.

On March 16, 2010, River Valley Bancorp (the “Company”) issued a press release announcing that the Board of Directors had declared a cash dividend of $0.21 per common share for the quarter ending March 31, 2010. The dividend is payable April 9, 2010, to shareholders of record on March 26, 2010.  The press release is furnished and attached hereto as Exhibit 99.1.
