ITEM 8.01  OTHER EVENTS.

On September 16, 2008, River Valley Bancorp issued a press release announcing that the Board of Directors had declared a cash dividend of $0.21 per common share for the quarter ending September 30, 2008. The dividend is payable October 10, 2008, to shareholders of record on September 30, 2008. The press release is attached as Exhibit 99.1 to this Current Report on Form 8-K.
