Organization	1. Organization Description of Business. IRIDEX Corporation (“IRIDEX”, the “Company”, “we”, “us”, or “our”) is a leading worldwide provider of therapeutic based laser systems, delivery devices and consumable instrumentation used to treat sight-threatening eye diseases in ophthalmology. Our ophthalmology products are sold in the United States (“U.S.”) predominantly through a direct sales force, and an independent sales force, and internationally through approximately 70 independent distributors in over 100 countries. In February 2012, we completed the sale of our aesthetics business to Cutera, Inc. and reclassified the aesthetics business segment as discontinued operations.
