Subsequent Events	13. Subsequent Event On April 3, 2012, the Company closed the registered public offering of 1,006,250 shares of its common stock (the “Offering”) at a price of $40.00 per share, less underwriting discounts and commissions. The Offering included the sale of 131,250 shares pursuant to the underwriters’ full exercise of their over-allotment option. On April 19, 2012, the Company filed a Form S-4 with the SEC, registering up to 2,627,904 shares of Tompkins common stock issuable in connection with the Company’s proposed merger with VIST Financial Corp., as more fully described in the Form S-4.
