16. SUBSEQUENT EVENTS

Effective August 1, 2016, the Bank changed its name to Dime Community Bank.  The new name more accurately reflects the Bank's evolving business model and will allow the Bank to emphasize its broader geographic and business reach while not abandoning its mission to be in the communities it serves, including the virtual community online.
