INCOME TAXES	NOTE 9 – INCOME TAXES The federal research and development tax credit was extended by the signing of the American Taxpayer Relief Act of 2012 (“Act”) on January 2, 2013. The Act retroactively extended this tax credit from January 1, 2012 through December 31, 2013. Since the Act was enacted during 2013, the income tax benefit related to the federal 2012 research and development tax credit resulted in a $0.8 million reduction of income tax expense in the quarter ended March 31, 2013.
