Office of Interactive Disclosure: What We Do

The Office of Interactive Disclosure (OID) carries out the Commission's commitment to make financial disclosure accessible and easy to use through the application of interactive data.

OID seeks to apply the benefits of interactive data to promote the Commission's mission of protecting investors, maintaining fair, orderly, and efficient markets, and facilitating capital formation.

The Commission has now required public companies to submit their financial statements in the XBRL interactive data format. The Commission has also now required mutual funds to submit their risk/return summaries in XBRL.

OID helps public companies to understand and comply with the Commission's XBRL rules for financial statements. OID also works with investors, regulated entities, filers, and the public to help them understand and use interactive data.
