Bruce E. Stern is the Chairman of the Government Affairs Committee of the Association of Financial Guaranty Insurers, a trade association of financial guaranty insurers. In such capacity, he has led industry efforts over the past two decades in the development of insurance, securities, insolvency, tax and other laws and regulations governing financial guaranty insurance and the application of credit enhancement to securities and other capital markets products. Mr. Stern is General Counsel, Managing Director and Secretary of Financial Security Assurance (“FSA”), a leading financial guaranty insurer, and is a member of FSA’s Executive Management Committee. Since joining FSA as General Counsel in 1987, Mr. Stern has played a significant role in designing and implementing credit enhancement products for securitizations and other credit risk transfers. Prior to joining FSA, Mr. Stern was an associate at the New York office of Cravath, Swaine & Moore. He is a graduate of Harvard College and Harvard Law School.
