I grew concerned after reading an article in the Seattle Post-Intelligencer ("SEC Transparency Rules Deserve Support," 11/29/02, by Bruce Herbert and Larry Dohrs) which stated that many large funds and institutional investors are attempting to block permanent adoption of these proposals. Please do not allow pressure from these large institutions to erode your support of these valuable rules. As an individual investor who has watched in shock and disgust as the recent corporate scandals have unfolded, I feel that it is more important than ever to maximize transparency and accountability in the investment arena. Making File Numbers S7-36-02 and S7-38-02 permanent would be a step in the right direction. Sincerely, Sarah E.
