Date: 12/18/1999 11:27 AM Subject: Proposed Regulation FD (Fair Disclosure) I am in accord with SEC Chairman Levitt general sentiment that, "...the current system is not only bad for individual investors, but it is bad for the markets as a whole. The ability of companies to selectively disclose material information to some sources and to receive good coverage as a result makes for a mockery of free flow of ideas and information" - (Fool.com). My commentary places emphasis on the phase "public companies." Put succinctly, information currently being selectively released to issuers should be released simultaneously to the public simply because this is how the American system should work. It's a matter of basic fairness, which is the foundation of our democracy. Ronald S. Harriott
