In fact, the current practice smacks of the scene in "Trading Places" whereby a copy of a supposedly public crop report is sold to some options traders in advance of public release, While a properly implemented fair disclosure law would undoubtedly cause some adjustment by those parasites that depend upon advance information, the overall market would become more efficient if the risks and rewards of investing were the same for every investor.
