I believe brokers who very rarely sell just stocks anymore should be held to the same fiduciary standard as Registered Investment Advisors RIAs and their Investment Advisor Representatives IARs. No longer is investment advice incidental to their other business because they are recommending allocations of mutual funds, stocks, bonds, LImited partnerships, Real Estate trusts, etc. Change the rules and hold all Registered Reps to a higher standard.
