Author: RULE-COMMENTS at os1 Subject: Shareholder Rights and Responsibilities re "File No. S7-25- Author: Deborah Wright Date: 11/27/97 11:18 PM Chairman Leavitt of SEC I am appalled to know that the SEC is considering limiting the rights of individual shareholders of corporations. Who owns these companies? I know the influence of corporations and pension plans and the like are mighty forces with which to contend, However, inividuals managing their own stock should continue to enjoy the rights of ownership for each vote they hold. As individual owners we must have the right to make our views known, and influence business direction to insure corporate responsibility. Profit with responsibility is as important as government with responsibility. And since you are a representitive of the people who depend upon you to direct policy which insures individual freedoms in the investment marketplace, I want you to know that I object to any regulations that will undermine the rights of individual shareholders.
