Date: 1/5/98 2:49 PM Subject: S7-25-97 Gentlemen, I understand that rule S7-25-97 would ban stockholders from discussing and making motions about employment practices at annual stockholder meetings. I oppose this rule on several grounds: 1. It is an unreasonable government regulation of (what should be) protected speach, and an attack on fundamental first ammendment rights. 2. It encourages corporations to exploit labor both in the US and abroad. You should also consider legal exposure. Even though The Supreme Court has moved to the right in the past 20 years, it has staunchly defended the first ammendment. If you pass this regulation, I am certain that labor and civil liberties groups will challenge it in court, and press their suit to the limit. Indeed, I, and many like-minded concerned citizens, will encourage and support their efforts. Respectfully submitted, Eric Mintz 131 Woodbridge Avenue Metuchen, New Jersey 08840-2030 732-549-5781
