Subject: Proposed new rules Date: 11/20/97 1:38 PM Dear Mr. Katz: In my business I work with 55 clients who are very serious in their conviction that businesses should act ethically and responsibly toward their employees, toward the communities in which they operate, and toward the global community. The SEC's proposed new rules disregard the rights of concerned shareholders to voice and to vote their concerns to the companies they own. I urge you in the strongest possible way not to adopt these rules. I urge you, on the contrary, to grant shareholders expanded rights to address the business practices of the companies they own. Respectfully, Mary Becker, CFP 401 S.4th Ave., Suite 800 Louisville, KY 40202
