Subject: preserve Shareholder rights!

Dear SEC,
     
I am very concerned about the new proposed regulations (S7-25-97) 
regarding shareholder resolutions.
     
The  process is a powerful tool of democracy and needs to be protected. 
Shareholder resolutions have played a leading role in establishing 
democratic government in South Africa and getting companies to take a 
hard look at pollution, discriminatory hiring practices and sweatshop 
conditions in overseas factories, etc.
     
Please reconsider these regulations and allow the shareholder resolution 
process to continue strengthening democracy in America.
