Date: 1/7/98 8:12 AM Subject: Proposed rule change I strongly oppose adoption of rule S7-25-97 which would serve to chill questions of potential interest to stockholders in corporations -- in particular, questions which have to do with issues relating to corporate ethics and behavior. As one who is active in the employment discrimination area, I distrust any rule which "gags" stockholders from asking questions that might uncover corporate misbehavior towards employees or consumers. Expediency is no virtue if it hides information of interest to stockholders.
