Date: 9/17/98 10:12 AM Subject: S7-16-97 The SEC should revoke their requiring complaints about companies and brokers to be filed privately when received via email and/or the internet; where nothing is private! I have forwarded many stock touts and broker solicitations to the SEC that we have received in our email box from the internet. The standard SEC email response is frustrating! Since the promotion was received via public and insecure media, I have no problems with the federal government conducting an investigation about a complaint received via the internet as long as the person filing the complaint maintains the original email or keeps an archive of the email. Thank you (and I hope that the SEC loosens up a bit) Ralph Hightower -- Ralph or Paula Hightower Chapin, SC
